Club Tournaments

Due to the coronavirus epidemic there are no plans to run tournaments this year

We run a number of tournaments each year in both Association and Golf croquet and members may choose which to enter.
Some are completed in just one afternoon while others are played throughout the summer.
Use the Drop-down list to check on how various tournaments are progressing.

Please start booking your games as soon as possible - there is a lot to get through this year with record participation in both the Level and Handicap tournaments and lawn space will be at a premium. Please be prepared to double-bank - two GC games should be booked on the one lawn before starting to book on the other  - it may be needed for AC matches.

Please be reminded of the following requirements before playing any match.

1.  As part of a CA requirement, all GC players were asked at the end of last season to send their handicap cards to the Club GC Handicapper (John Alabaster) for validation.  Before you can actually play in any of these competitions, you must confirm with your opponent that both of you have complied with this requirement.   If you haven't already done so, please send your card to John now - there is a folder in the Shelter for this purpose.   Likewise, inform John if you have never been issued with a card.

2.  Croquet Association competition rules and game etiquette inform that a 5-minute practice before a match is only allowed when both players are present.   By all means get the lawn set up ready, but please do not start until your opponent is ready to join you.   No other pre-match practice is permitted on the day of the match.

Please remember that, after you have played your match, the result should be recorded on the sheet in the pavilion and also on your handicap card - each game in a best-of-three must be shown individually.
